The town has a very varied gastronomy, which is closely linked to its traditions and festivals. Examples of this include its rich array of cakes and its pork products. The most representative dishes are: ARROZ CALDOSO, a brothy rice dish, SECRETARÍA, a rich chicken stew, and JARRETES, ham hocks.
Locally produced wines, cherries and Extra Virgin Olive Oil are also very important ingredients in the town’s cuisine. Alcalá la Real also boasts local craft beers and goat’s cheese.
