Cabra’s skilled STONE-MASONS have acquired great expertise in shaping the stone and red marble found in the surrounding mountains to create marvellously crafted fountains, balconies, balustrades, columns and facades.

Another time-honoured local skill is the manufacturing of CAPACHOS BASKETS made of esparto grass and used for harvesting olives- by craftsmen called capacheros.

Cabra is also well known for its HANDCRAFTED TILES, which are produced using the same techniques as more than two centuries ago.

But the traditional craft for which Cabra is best known is probably CANDLEMAKING, an activity once again associated with Easter Week and religious celebrations.
