Located Natural Park and Geopark of the Subbetic MountainsThe municipality preserves all the Andalusian essence that we can discover in the beautiful Villa neighborhood, of Muslim origin, in his magnificent Baroque legacy, in its unique civil buildings or in the constant flow of its fountains.

At the foot of the natural lookout point on which it is located Priego de Córdoba, Declared a Historic Site, We find a fertile plain surrounded by mountains. Due to these factors, prehistoric, Iberian, and Roman remains have been found. In 1.225, Ferdinand III seized Baguh, the Hispano-Muslim name for the city, which returned to Arab hands for a brief period between 1.327 and 1.340.

From the 16th century onwards, it experienced a period of economic prosperity thanks to the expansion of the textile industry. This wealth allowed it to adorn itself with an extraordinary mantle of Baroque art, hence its imposing historical and artistic heritage, which is implemented with an extraordinary landscape setting.

It currently has 23.500 inhabitants.
