Despite having been recently renovated, it still retains remains from the 17th and 18th centuries, especially in some of the adjacent buildings.
The Plaza del Altozano, as it is today, was the center of most of the activities organized in Utrera, hosting the famous bullfights, processions, and other events of all kinds. The balconies of the surrounding buildings were positioned to provide the best possible view of everything happening in the plaza, like a privileged box seat.
