The La Flor de Utrera Distillery distilled its first aniseed liqueurs in 1960, the year Antonio Espinar Ojeda and his sons revived the operations of a former liquor factory. This old factory had already been distilling aniseed and gin under the Horizonte brand by 1943 in a copper still forged in 1916 on Feria Street in Seville. From the very first aniseed liqueur, the blend of flavors was appreciated by the passionate residents of Utrera and the surrounding Seville countryside for its aniseed fragrance and silky taste. Today, the third generation of distillers from the Espinar family continues this cherished tradition.
