The fair takes place over three days in Bilbao and this year features an area dedicated to Experiences and New Trends

The Caminos de Pasión tourist route will once again be present at the Expovacaciones international tourism fair, held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre from Friday, May 10th to Sunday, May 12th. The fair is considered one of the leading events in the tourism sector nationwide, with representatives from all of Spain's Autonomous Communities as well as international participation from countries such as Japan, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Argentina, and Chile, among others.

This year, the fair introduces a new area dedicated to New Trends and Experiences, focusing on three tourism niches: Active Sports Tourism, Gastronomic Tourism, and Adventure Tourism. Located next to the exhibition area, this space will showcase unique experiences designed to capture the interest of each niche's target audience. Within the Andalusia stand, the Caminos de Pasión (Paths of Passion) initiative will seek to attract new tourists interested in these emerging tourism models, which can be explored through the wide range of activities available in the ten municipalities along the route. In addition, cultural, heritage, and gastronomic offerings will be presented, inviting visitors on an exciting journey through the heart of Andalusia.

Last year's Expovacaciones event attracted over 76,500 visitors and featured 261 exhibitors. It was a unique opportunity to showcase the attractions of the route and promote each of its destinations. This year, in addition to highlighting experiential tourism activities, it is crucial that the Route offers numerous options within this category, all linked to the most important cultural event that unites them: Holy Week.

Presence of the route

Since its inception, the Caminos de Pasión route has undertaken numerous tourism promotion activities through its participation in various industry events and trade fairs, with promotional campaigns targeting the general public and communication efforts through a variety of general and specialized media. Thus, each year, in addition to the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), the route is present at the main events in the sector.

Caminos de Pasión, which has the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Commerce of the Junta de Andalucía, is made up of the towns of Alcalá la Real (Jaén), Baena, Cabra, Lucena, Priego de Córdoba and Puente Genil (Córdoba) and Carmona, Écija, Osuna and Utrera (Sevilla).

The route's offering highlights the way of life, traditions and idiosyncrasies of these places, through their Holy Week and religious festivals, heritage, nature, gastronomy, traditions, folklore and crafts, and offers a novel concept of tourism product through experiences and activities, the result of the cultural heritage of the municipalities.
