The route will showcase the rich heritage, culture, nature and gastronomy of its ten municipalities until Sunday at the most important tourism fair in the Netherlands.
The Caminos de Pasión (Paths of Passion) route kicks off its 2019 promotional campaign by attending the Vakantiebeurs Fair in Utrecht, Netherlands, starting this Wednesday, January 9th. This fair has become the most important tourism event in the Dutch market. With the support of the Andalusian Regional Government's Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the route will be showcasing the rich heritage, culture, natural beauty, and gastronomy of the ten inland Andalusian municipalities that comprise it until Sunday, January 13th: Alcalá la Real (Jaén), Baena, Cabra, Lucena, Priego de Córdoba, and Puente Genil (Córdoba), and Carmona, Osuna, Écija, and Utrera (Seville).
Specifically, Caminos de Pasión will showcase its offerings at Turespaña's stand at the fair, targeting an international market increasingly interested in Andalusia as a tourist destination. In this regard, the route has the opportunity to promote itself as a cultural alternative to classic Andalusian tours, differentiating itself based on the unique character of its towns and villages. Their Holy Week celebrations and religious festivals, traditions, folklore, and crafts, among other attractions and services, offer a compelling and comprehensive experience for international travelers.
The Caminos de Pasión event therefore aims to strengthen commercial ties with tour operators such as KRAS.nl, with whom the route carries out fruitful collaborative actions, and generate business opportunities with travel agencies and tourism intermediaries that allow for the marketing of the destination and contribute to improving its positioning in a market as important as the Dutch one. As well as establishing contacts with media outlets and reaching the public directly, who are very interested in Andalusia.
In fact, for the Dutch market, Spain ranks second in visit intention behind Italy and ahead of countries such as Germany, France, Greece, Portugal or Norway.
The Vakantiebeurs Fair has established itself as one of the country's major events and a key meeting point for the tourism industry and for establishing professional contacts with businesspeople, primarily from Northern European countries. Specifically, last year's edition attracted 105.369 visitors and featured over 1.100 exhibitors from 120 countries.
