A metalsmiths in Lucena with extensive experience specialising in religious and brotherhood figures.

The Metalworking tradition in Lucena dates back to the 6th century BC, when the Jewish community introduced it to this town. Since then, Lucena has been famous for its bronze handicrafts. In the 19th century, the craft of goldsmiths was also developed, with the emergence of artisan workshops devoted to this work making numerous pieces distributed all over Spain.

Today, ORFEBRES GRADIT continues this tradition, hand-crafting noble metals in the same traditional way they did in the past.

The workshop was founded in the mid-20th century when Francisco Gadit created a company dedicated to Bronze handicrafts. With the help of his children, who continue this tradition, the workshop turned towards the design and production of religious and brotherhood metalwork items.

Numerous works are created in his workshop, floats with canopies such as those belonging to Mª Stma. El Divino Consuelo (Lucena), Mª Stma Del Buen Fin (Cabra), the Praetorian Guard (Aspe, Alicante), Mª Stma. de la Esperanza (Aguilar de la Frontera), Parroquia de la Sagrada Familia Church (Málaga), etc. In addition, they also create important pieces of metalwork including the sterling silver crowns of Ntra. Sra. del Amor y Trabajo (Granada) and Ntra. Sra. del Socorro (Lucena), as well as lanterns, processional candle holders, staffs, etc. For the cities of Cordoba, Malaga, Granada, Jaen….and endless towns within our region.

They offer visits to the workshop when booked in advance by telephone.
