Los Llanos is a broad, treeless plateau. There are an abundance of stone formations or majanos, which make this area reminiscent of the moon. There is a rich biodiversity and flora and wild fauna is plentiful.
There are many aromatic species such as lavender, rosemary and thyme, among others. You can also spot several bird species such as crested larks, woodlarks, calandrias, stonechats, whunchats, black redstarts, linnets, goldfinches, buntings or red partridges. The area is suitable for reptile populations, and there is an abundance of ocellated lizards, Iberian wall lizards, long-tailed lizards and houseshoe snakes.
