Barrio de la Villa and Balcón del Adarve viewpoint

The Barrio de la Villa was given the official title of Historic Centre of Priego in 1972, and is currently Priego’s town centre.  Clearly medieval-influenced, the narrow winding whitewashed streets offer a perfect blend of peace and beauty; a picture of tranquility, painted with sunlight, flowers and stone. It is surrounded by the Adarve, a natural balcony and historic defence mechanism for this primitive medieval town. While meandering around this unique neighbourhood, do not miss out on the calle Bajondillo, Plaza San Antonio and calle Real, which leads to Paseo de Columbia, locally known as paseo de las Rosas (Rose avenue).
