HOLY WEEK GUIDE

'Holy Week on the Paths of Passion. Historical, artistic and anthropological guide' is an extensive 498-page volume that gathers, with theoretical and academic foundation, everything related to the religious festival in the different municipalities of the route, analyzing not only what is seen but everything behind it and from all possible angles.

This guide, which is the result of an agreement signed between the Association for the Tourist Development of the route and the Pablo de Olavide University, is the culmination of the research work carried out over four years by the professor of Social Anthropology of the University of Seville, Salvador Rodríguez Becerra, and the professor of Art History of the Pablo de Olavide University, Salvador Hernández González.

During this time, both have gathered the testimony of local researchers and analyzed the existing documentation, experiencing the festival firsthand in order to articulate this meticulous study that highlights the incalculable artistic, intangible and social value that Holy Week represents in the towns that make up the route, where for centuries the festival has served as an integrating and articulating element of a unique cultural, anthropological, heritage and gastronomic character.
